Hotel du Vin & Bistro Harrogate

Even with a last-minute booking for just one night on a work trip, I was given a quiet, very clean and comfortable room. The care in the little details made the stay an easy one. I’d happily come back and would recommend the hotel.

Adrian went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely stay. The hotel was a great base for exploring Harrogate town centre, with excellent parking and plenty of good places to eat nearby. We enjoyed it even in winter, and hope to see you again!

Adrian made a real difference with his warm manner and easy willingness to help. I was in Harrogate for work, and the room was large, beautifully presented and impeccably clean. Breakfast was also a high point, with plenty of variety and very good quality. I’d gladly recommend Hotel du Vin for a comfortable, refined stay.

There were eight of us for Sunday lunch, and the afternoon was pleasant overall, but the meal and service were a letdown. The side dishes were especially poor: rock-hard potatoes, green beans and Chantilly carrots with black bits on top. We had to ask five or more times for gravy, mustard, horseradish and other accompaniments, and nobody checked whether everything was all right. We were drinking very high-end wine for a special occasion, over £100+ a bottle, yet the glasses weren’t clean. I also had to ask for two more bottles. This is the bare minimum of service I’d expect. Maybe there’s a 20 percent chance we’ll return, but Harrogate has much better lunch spots. Sorry, Hotel du Vin, you failed.
