College Guest House

Handy spot for Haverfordwest parkrun. Just keep in mind that check-out is by 10.30am.

Room 7 was neat and clean, including the bathroom, and there was access to a fridge both in the room and downstairs. Breakfast was filling and set us up well for the day. There’s no parking at the guest house, but the big car park just across the road costs only £2 for 24 hours. It had plenty of spaces, and we could easily see our car from the house.

The owners were courteous and very attentive, and the stay felt like good value. Our room was clean, with thoughtful extras: bottled water, proper glasses rather than plastic cups, tea and coffee, plus generously sized chocolate bars. The freshly cooked breakfast was lovely too. There’s free street parking and a public car park nearby. Just be aware there’s no lift, so you’ll need to manage the stairs.

After a long drive I arrived late, but got a warm welcome. The room and en-suite were spotless, and the bed was so comfortable I nearly slept through breakfast. The meal was good and the staff were friendly. College Guest House is an original Georgian building in the old part of Haverfordwest, with shutters instead of curtains. Definitely a thumbs up from me.
