Bolney is lovely for walks, and our hosts were happy to chat and made us feel right at home. We had a really nice weekend in a comfortable bedroom with beautiful decor. Dinner was delicious, especially the superb pie and felafel, and the Silly Moo cider went down very well. Breakfast was lovely too, with pastries, bread, cereal, yoghurt and fruit one morning, then a cooked breakfast on our last day. Nothing was too much trouble. I’d recommend staying here.

My husband really enjoyed the Wagy burger. My own meal wasn’t up to standard, so the manager replaced it straight away, took it off the bill and offered me something else. Nobody’s perfect, and what mattered was how they handled the problem. They really tried to put it right, 10/10 for that. The manager also took time to chat with us and show us the lovely rooms. We’d come back and try another dish. We stopped in for lunch while staying in the village, and the young woman who served us was superb: polite, fun, informative and keen to make us feel welcome and valued. Good service feels hard to find these days, but this pub delivered.

Kate made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and couldn’t have done more for us. We stayed overnight after a wine tasting at Bolney Vineyard, just along the neighbouring road. The refurbished rooms are comfortable and quaint, with a lovely shower and instant hot water. We had a nice evening meal, and there was plenty for breakfast. I think cooked breakfast is available on Saturday and Sunday for an extra charge. We’d definitely stay again. It felt very much like home.

Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and nicely presented. Kate welcomed us warmly and looked after us throughout our Friday night stay. The recently refurbished pub feels stylish but still homely. Our room had plenty of character, everything we needed, and was comfortable and spotlessly clean. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

The place felt chic without going overboard, and lunch was delicious, though I could have done with a little more gravy. We’d been let down at Bolney estates, which felt overpriced and underwhelming, so this was a delightful find. We were late for lunch, but the staff were still welcoming and keen to help. They didn’t make us feel unwelcome at all. We had a great time and will be back.
