The County Hotel

The room was clean and roomy, with a big comfortable bed and a clean, decent-sized ensuite. Breakfast was fine, though the choice was limited and everything was vegetarian. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating, and we’d go back. The location is good if you have a car. At check-in, the fish tank on the reception desk was such a filthy green that it didn’t inspire confidence. I’d specifically requested a downstairs room because my husband has poor mobility, but we were first given keys to an upstairs room. About ten minutes later, the woman at the desk came by and offered us a downstairs room. We’d already unpacked, so we stayed where we were. I’d get rid of the aquarium if there isn’t time to clean it.

It’s a quiet residential area, though quite a way from the town centre. My room had 16 sockets, which I counted because there are usually never enough, even if some were in odd places. Staff also helped make sure my cycle was stored safely. I hadn’t realised when booking that this was a vegetarian hotel, but I really enjoyed the yogurt and berries at breakfast. The room was spacious too.

The restaurant was pleasant, and we had a nice stay with the family. Our rooms were clean and renovated. We’d stay here again.

The bed was really comfortable and I slept well. The room was spotless and warm, with a good shower. There was a mini fridge and kettle, and a hairdryer and iron in the hallway if needed. I didn’t eat there, so I can’t comment on the food, but I enjoyed my stay.
