Housel Bay Hotel

The crashing waves below the cliffs gave the place a mysterious, memorable feel, and the sea views stretched out in every direction. The setting is what makes this hotel so special. It was a lovely place to unwind and take in the dramatic coast. I'd absolutely recommend it.

We'd love to come back when it's warmer and spend time in the peaceful gardens. There are plenty of well-placed seats for enjoying the view. The hotel sits in a spectacular spot, with direct access to the South West Coast Path. Our DBB offer included very good food at the Terrace Restaurant. Inside, there's a cosy bar with an open fire and a guest snug overlooking the bay.

We had a really enjoyable anniversary stay, with wonderful weather adding to it. The Fallowfield's restaurant tasting experience was a special part of the visit, and the Terrace staff were brilliant. Molly, Alice and Olly were lovely to deal with, as were the other friendly, polite staff. From our bay window room we could see both the sea and countryside. Housel Bay Hotel is all about its location. It's not perfect, of course, but we'd happily stay again if we return to the Lizard. Thanks to everyone for making our anniversary memorable.

The view was the only good part of our afternoon tea. My friend and I came to celebrate her 60th birthday, and I used a voucher, but what we got felt like very little for the price and nothing special. The three small sandwiches were dry and the fillings weren't appetising. They brought it on a tray, forgot our drinks and the bottle of prosecco I'd paid for the day before, so I had to find the waitress and ask for them. The dining room needs refurbishing, and the table looked like something from a cafe. Then they added a 12 30 service charge, which I asked them to remove. Very disappointing.
