We booked just two days before arriving, and the email communication was really good. Staff were warm and welcoming, gave us a parking disc, and pointed us to the best place to park after we pulled in and dropped our bags. The hotel wasn’t full that night, so we even got an upgrade on our room selection. The food was fantastic, very tasty and served in huge portions. The bed was super comfortable, breakfast more than adequate, and the location worked well for drinks around town and sightseeing. Highly recommend.

We had a very good meal and service in the dining room on our first night, at a clearly popular hotel. Our room was over the bar and faced the main street, but we slept well in the comfortable bed, only hearing the occasional loud exhaust. It was a lovely little old hotel in central Hexham, with spacious modern rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast had a good choice. There are plenty of different restaurants opposite or up the road, and the main pedestrian shopping area is only 100m away. A great three-night stay, thank you.

Sunday lunch has become a monthly treat for us after another good visit. It’s a warm, cosy pub with great service and homemade roast dinner. The ultimate was amazing, with crackling and pig in a duvet, and we just about managed to fit in dessert. Yum yum.

We stayed one night, and the room was great, big and comfortable, with lovely pillows and a great shower. Fiona and the rest of the staff were really nice, and we got a warm welcome inside. Breakfast the next morning was great with lots of choice. The place looks nice from outside too. We’d definitely recommend it and come back.

The roast dinner was delicious when we went on Sunday. It had been so popular that by the time we came in the evening there was no pork left and not enough beef. What we did get was really enjoyable, and we even had room for a sweet. Definitely recommend.
