The bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast and staff were lovely. They’ve put real effort into making guests feel looked after, with thoughtful details like cotton pads and space heaters. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the location is stunning, with views across the road to the Grade II listed pub and church. Thank you so much!

The cooked breakfast was amazing, especially the fried bread. Our room was cosy at night and had a beautiful view, with lovely walks all around. We were only about 35 minutes from Exeter, though it felt like we’d found a hidden gem just down the road. The owner greeted us and showed us to a clean, tidy room with tea and coffee. There was also a small fridge downstairs with free soft drinks and fresh milk. One small niggle, if you’re a light sleeper, use the earplugs provided, as you can hear people coming and going and doors opening and closing in the old compact building. There are small towns and villages nearby, as well as lots of country pubs. We’d definitely recommend it. Thanks for a lovely stay.

A very convenient stop on our way down to Devon, just off the main A303. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, and the room was warm, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, with lovely fluffy white towels. Breakfast was exceptional, well cooked and had everything you could want. We loved our stopover.

The room was absolutely spotless when I was shown in after a warm welcome. It was lovely and quiet, so I didn’t need the earplugs they provided. The tea and coffee were good quality, and breakfast was delicious, with quality ingredients. A faultless stay. I’d certainly come again.

We loved our stay, and the location was lovely, though there aren’t any local shops and the pub is currently being renovated. The rooms were clean and tidy, breakfast was lovely, and having fresh milk for my morning tea was a real plus. They were so accommodating for my disabled mum, even when I called to check the wheelchair would fit through the door. The lady on the phone ran downstairs to measure it for me. I also left my ring in the room, and they came running after me to return it. That was a blessing, as going back for it would have been a nightmare.
