Woodsome Hall Golf Club

We played two rounds of golf and stayed overnight. The club was great, and the members were friendly, polite and welcoming. Big thanks to the staff too: they kept the bar open for us that night, and the cleaners even made me a coffee in the morning. I'd highly recommend it. Well done.

The course and its setting are great, with really good facilities and a pro shop. It's easy to get to for travel, and buggies are available if the walk is too tough for you.

The building and grounds are beautiful, and the views were stunning. We stayed one night in a twin room that had everything we needed, with comfortable beds. Breakfast was a lovely cooked one and great value for money. Staff were friendly and efficient, and I'd stay again. A small suggestion for breakfast: instead of one large jug of milk and one large dish of sugar, perhaps put out smaller amounts for each table.

We had a lovely breakfast both mornings, especially the poached eggs. The room was cosy, clean and fresh, furnished and decorated to a high standard. The shower was a nice surprise, a waterfall type with decent pressure. Having access to a fridge/freezer in the little communal room was helpful too. The golf course looked beautiful and very well kept, though I'm not one for swinging bats, so I'd probably appreciate it more if I were. Staff even returned a shirt I'd foolishly left in the wardrobe. A nice touch, and they didn't even reply to my email about the cost! I stayed two nights and honestly couldn't fault it. If I'm around Huddersfield or Leeds again, I'll stay here for sure. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
