The village is beautiful and very quiet, and the locals are friendly. Nicky the landlady gave us such a warm, cheerful welcome. She was lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed joining in the local quiz night, held on the first Sunday of the month. Looking forward to staying again one day.

The food was good, and the woman who served us was really friendly. It’s a quaint little pub with a car park. We couldn’t find a menu anywhere, so I’ve shared the May 2025 menu for anyone interested. They also have specials on the board. There were only three red wines to choose from, but I understand they may need to keep stock limited out in the sticks. The food could be a bit more imaginative for vegetarians and vegans. I can recommend the pub.

The hosts were amazing, and all the staff went out of their way to welcome us and our fur babies. The food was excellent and the rooms were brilliant. What a wonderful pub. I’d really recommend it and hope to come back soon.

I chose this place for its location for work and the previous reviews. It’s a lovely, typical English country pub, and the hosts made me feel very welcome. I arrived in the middle of storm Herminia, when it seemed there wouldn’t be anywhere open for food. The landlady said not to worry, she had some lasagne left over with garlic bread and would bring it to my room. That’s great service. Thank you very much.
