Coul House Hotel

We felt at home straight away, thanks to the warm welcome from Susannah, one of the owners, and the exceptional service from the staff, especially Chris in the bar. Dinner was excellent, and breakfast had plenty to choose from. Our room had a lovely view and the whole hotel was spotless. Coulhouse is beautiful and luxurious, with a gorgeous setting that looked especially lovely in the snow. We visited off season and found it excellent value. Loved our stay and would absolutely come back.

We couldn’t recommend this place more. The owners shared great suggestions for hikes, restaurants up north and trips around the Highlands, and the location also worked perfectly for visiting Dunrobin Castle. Everyone who worked there was so lovely, and the owners made us feel right at home. The food was outstanding and the service gracious. The Coul House was the most charming hotel, and the people there were the nicest we’ve met. An 11/10 experience!

The candlelit meals and fire added so much to the atmosphere, and our room and the grounds were stunning. My sister and I spent two wonderful nights at the Coul House during an 11 day tour of Scotland. The service was personable and gracious at every turn. Stuart and the staff made our stay memorable. It was truly a highlight of the trip.

Storm Amy brought down trees and knocked out the power during our two nights, but breakfast by candlelight and the glowing fire in the entry made it all feel even more magical. Stuart and Susannah have clearly put so much love into Coul House. The plush rooms, elegant dining, enormous garden trees and adorable fairy trail🧚‍♂️ all feel carefully thought out. Bella and Molly, the house pups, were part of the charm too, and the staff clearly take pride in their work. The owners set that tone.
