The Bowmore House Bed & Breakfast

We loved our stay at the Bowmore House Bed and Breakfast and are already thinking about coming back. Andrew and Alison were lovely hosts, and the large room had beautiful views from Harbour Room. Breakfast was divine, and the location in Bowmore made it easy to walk to food and other amenities.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my other half's birthday, and Andrew and Alison went above and beyond to make it special. They clearly care about this beautiful island, know it incredibly well, and were always happy to suggest places to walk, drink, and visit. This was my second stay, and bringing my other half along made for another faultless visit. The room was superb, and my other half called breakfast “the best breakfast in Scotland.” Bowmore is close to amenities, restaurants, and distilleries, and the beach beside Bowmore distillery was stunning in the gorgeous weather. We'll definitely return, and I'd happily recommend this lovely B&B to anyone visiting Islay.

Andrew knew an incredible amount about whisky distilling on the Isle of Islay, and his suggestions helped us enjoy every minute on this lovely, unique island. He even arranged a change to our return ferry booking after we'd been unable to do it ourselves. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Our room at Bowmore House was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast, with a wee dram, was a great way to start each day. We can't thank Andrew enough for making our holiday on Islay so memorable.

The room was spacious and had newly done bathrooms, and there was a pleasant backyard where we could picnic. We stayed for several nights while on our Scottish Routes Whisky Tour of Islay, and Bowmore House was a brilliant place to stay right in the heart of Bowmore, which is easy to get around on foot. A very pleasant hosting family welcomed us with a dram of local whisky, and it was also available at breakfast. The full Scottish breakfast was a generous spread, with black pudding and haggis rounds, half and half, bangers, eggs, and more. It was just what you need before a day visiting three or four distilleries. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
