A handy stop on a northbound or southbound trip, with great parking and an easy stay. For the price, the facilities do the job and feel like good value. The bedding let things down, though: there were stains and hairs on it, and the cleaning team should have replaced the marked sheets or covers. Management should be aware. If you’re heading north, you’ll need to drive another 8-10 miles south to make a U-turn. Worth planning for if you’re in a hurry in the morning.

I’d stay at a Days Inn again, and the meal vouchers were a big part of why this worked for me. They cost £7.50 each and gave me £10 to spend at McDonald’s or Costa, so I bought two for dinner and a warm breakfast. I liked being able to eat when it suited me, and I could take the food back to my room. There’s a McDonald’s, Costa Coffee and WHSmith right next door. The hotel itself doesn’t have a restaurant. This was my trip home from my son’s, heading north on the M6. I meant to take junction 37, return to the M6 south and then use the turnoff for Days Inn Killington Lake. I got it wrong, and my sat nav sent me along some very dodgy roads to the little village of Killington, about three houses. I corrected course and reached the right place. The services sit beside Killington Lake and look really pretty in nice weather. Check-in was easy, and the reception staff were lovely and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable, and at the £39 I paid it was economical for what I needed. The bedrooms are dated and could use a refurb, though, and there was a loose panel in the bathroom. I’d definitely stay again for a clean, comfortable and affordable stop with a good food option. There’s plenty of free parking. You just enter your registration on the touchscreen at reception, and that’s it. 😊

At £45 for the night, it wasn’t bad value, but I’d have felt badly ripped off if I’d paid more. We stayed in room 3A, where the smell of mould and damp hit us as soon as we opened the door. The room felt very tired and badly in need of renovation. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, and doors kept slamming and disturbing us through the night.

The room was clean and presentable, though the furniture wasn’t top quality. The bathroom was clean and functional, and the beds were perfectly acceptable. The receptionists were very pleasant. We’ll be back later this year.

A perfectly acceptable place for a night or two if you just need somewhere to stop. It’s in motorway services, so there are simple food options right next door. The rooms are a little worn, but the service was excellent and the staff were really friendly. All the rooms are dog friendly too.
