We stayed in Bracken Barn at Newlands farm stables. It was very clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The location is great, with plenty of attractions nearby. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

Great for a short break, with a good base for getting around and Kendal town only a couple of miles away. The dogs loved it 😁 and the bbq was great 👍. There was also a range of activities and games to enjoy.

Bracken Barn was good, and the purpose-built pod next door was a hit with my sons. Our family of five had a nice few days, though sharing one bathroom was a downside, and the railway line right beside us was sometimes intrusive. I also felt it was a little overpriced for what was included.

The sheep in the field made for a lovely arrival, and the room was very clean and dog friendly. We were there for one night on the 11 of April, and the heating kept the room cosy. We had a positive stay, though light sleepers should know that on a windy night we could hear the wind rolling over the roof. It’s probably a gem in the warmer months. We wished we could have used the fire pit. The Punch Bowl down the road served lovely food, and the beef burger was fantastic.

Great place with self-check-in. We were lucky it wasn’t fully booked, so we got privacy and had the garden to ourselves.
