The Glen Guest House

The owners were lovely, and breakfast was fantastic. They let me keep my bike in their garage overnight. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. I’ll definitely stay again sometime.

The hosts were amazing and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The guest house was extremely clean, and the beds and pillows were high quality, just what you need for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice and high quality ingredients. I’d absolutely recommend staying here as a great base for exploring.

Pauline was such a kind help when my mom and I were stranded at Oxenholme train station near midnight. Delays and cancellations had left us waiting for hours in the rain, with no idea whether the train would ever move. She took my call about a room, then came to pick us up and even found us something to eat that night. The room was lovely, with a modern, clean bathroom, and the place is conveniently close to the station. We were so grateful for her kindness, and the service felt like a blessing.

Pauline and Bill were wonderful hosts, and even sorted out dinner for us at the pub down the street after our late flight. The countryside around the place is beautiful and peaceful, though the city centre isn't far away. Our room was lovely, the beds especially comfortable, and everything was well stocked. Breakfast was outstanding. We'd definitely come back for another quiet country break.
