Native Hyde Park

It’s in a less fashionable part of town, but the location works brilliantly: Hyde Park is a minute away, Paddington and the Elizabeth Line are three minutes on foot, and Mayfair and the West End are walkable too. This is a great no-frills place. The room was clean, the surroundings were nice, and it had what I needed without extras like breakfast or service gimmicks. Don’t come expecting a concierge or much hands-on attention, but you’re not paying for that.

For nearly a week, I stayed in a well-kept, beautiful hotel. My room was about 30 m², roomy for one person and comfortable for two at most. Getting around was easy, with Lancaster Gate and Paddington Underground stations both roughly a five-minute walk away. Breakfast isn’t provided, and things like cleaning and laundry are self-service, though most services are available. The staff were friendly and professional. I especially want to thank Adwan, the Arab staff member, who was incredibly helpful and cooperative and deserves particular praise. Everything else was great, and I’d gladly stay again.

The studio itself was good, and being near Hyde Park made getting around convenient. But noise was the main problem: the wooden floors carry footsteps from the corridor and the room above, which can interrupt sleep. The building could use better sound insulation and facilities. There’s no restaurant, bar, or complimentary bottled water, and the elevator feels small and dated. The room was good, though the building’s limitations affected my stay.

The front-facing room gave us a great view, but it was noisy, especially in the evenings. Earplugs did the trick. The location was fantastic and made it easy to get to places of interest. We had a fantastic three-night stay at Native Hyde Park. Some things looked dated, including a chipped sink and tub and scratches and dents on a few pieces of furniture, but the room was spotless and well maintained. I’d love to come back.
