Breakfast won me over. It was cooked very well and served piping hot. Parking beside the B&B was excellent and off-road. The place even felt like a good episode of Four in the Bed. It’s well placed for Lancaster University. My room was clean and nicely presented, and the ensuite had been done up well. The wall-mounted TV seemed tiny from bed. Tea and coffee were good quality, and the milk was fresh, but it was kept in a fridge on the landing for each room. Going out there in my boxers when I wanted a cuppa wasn’t practical.

Stephen was a really kind, accommodating host. He cooked us a nice hot breakfast and even let me play his piano. If you stay here, bring earplugs and you’ll love it. The main drawback is the location right behind a very loud, busy road, which made it hard to call the place a “Farmhouse.” Traffic quieted after 11, then picked up again around 6. Our room had two twin beds and was cute, though the bedding made it feel a bit like a teen girl's room. There wasn’t anywhere for our luggage or a flat or curling iron. The bathroom was really nice.

Breakfast was the best, with the plate hot when it arrived and the food still hot when I’d finished. The price was spot on, so it felt like an excellent deal. We’re glad we found this B&B and will stay again on our way back from Scotland. It’s a real gem, in a beautiful location, and I enjoyed a morning walk down by the canal. The owners were wonderfully kind and accommodating. They parked our motorcycle round the back and put their van behind it, which put me at ease. The rooms and bathrooms were lovely and finished to a high standard.

The cooked breakfast was brilliant and great value. This is a beautiful little B&B, with an immaculate room, a lovely ensuite, and fresh milk in the room. The owners were really friendly and welcoming.
