Marriott Hotel Leeds

The room was clean and fine, though a little dated. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and it’s a short walk from the station. There was an odd connecting door in our room, with another door on the other side leading to a different room. Sadly, the neighbour stayed up until the early hours, and their noise and light kept me awake. Very strange.

At 1:15 a.m. on Saturday in room 205, the music was unbelievably loud, and the windows did nothing to keep the noise out. The night manager wouldn’t move us or offer help, and seemed not to care about our experience. They admitted this happens on Saturdays. A hotel like this needs a noise warning, because it was impossible to sleep and nobody should have to put up with that without being told. I can’t believe Marriot deceived me into booking this place. It ruined our Valentine’s night. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world, and this was the worst for seriously loud music.

We had a lovely stay right in the heart of Leeds. The room was spacious with a high ceiling, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. We also really enjoyed Gino bar and the breakfast, both were brilliant.

The cosy bar and restaurant were great, and the staff were lovely from reception through to the bar. Everyone was polite and friendly. Our room at the back was quiet, roomy, smart and very clean, with a large bathroom. The car park is right behind the hotel, an easy walk. My only small gripe is that the mattresses are extremely hard. I had a rough night’s sleep, though I know that can come down to personal preference.
