Lerwick Hotel

The staff were very polite, and the restaurant inside was nice, though it looked quite austere from outside. The chaise longue in the ladies' room was great. I came to meet family and had two meals there. They were good, but I was surprised by the high prices. I'm from Brighton and felt as if I were still there! The walk into town is nice, too.

We had a superb family meal here recently. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, and the food was excellent. It's great to see a local hotel keeping its standards high.

The reception and restaurant were nice, but the room I stayed in felt worn and dated. One evening I went to the bar and waited around five minutes before the barman asked what I wanted to order. He seemed more focused on polishing glasses, even though it was just the two of us in the bar.

We had a stunning view of the bay from our bedroom and the breakfast area. The hotel is well placed, with a bus stop right outside and town a 10-15 minute walk away. There's also a supermarket within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had an excellent selection. There was always plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits to take back to the room.
