The huge conservatory at the back is such a distinctive space, and there’s free parking too. We’ve really enjoyed the tribute nights here over the past few months. Kat is lovely, and the whole team makes you feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, with baths as a nice extra, and breakfast has a superb choice. It’s a great base for exploring nearby. If you’re planning a party or wedding, it’s worth viewing the rooms.

Katy at reception was incredibly helpful when I asked for a quiet room upstairs, and she found me a great one. The room was very comfortable, though some rooms could do with an update, and that didn’t really affect my stay. Breakfast had an excellent selection. Service in the breakfast room was poor one morning, with staff standing around chatting, but the next day they were attentive and engaging.

Sophie really made our stay stand out. She was friendly, professional, attentive, and went out of her way to make things feel just right. The rest of the hotel had a warm, welcoming feel too. My partner and I stayed last night, and our spotless, comfortable room had everything we needed for a relaxing break. We’ll be back soon and would recommend the hotel to friends and family. Thanks to Sophie and the team!

The conservatory was full of daylight, which made it lovely for photos, and the venue has plenty of space. I photographed a wedding here last year. The garden couldn’t be used because of the weather, but the wedding coordinator pointed me to other outdoor spots, and we made it work. The team were kind and helpful, especially with the couple. There’s plenty of parking and several bars, so a wedding can be kept separate from the main hotel. I’m looking forward to photographing more weddings here.

The A46 was the main downside for us. Traffic noise carried through the night and kept us awake, and there aren’t any spa facilities. Still, the hotel was good value for a one-night stay, with a large, comfortable room and lovely staff.
