Robin made check-in feel personal, friendly and informed, which was a real change from the robotic service you sometimes get at hotel desks. The room had everything I needed, including an iron and board and a hairdryer, and I really liked being able to open the window for fresh air. It was spotless, with decor and cleanliness that stood out against other hotels I’ve used. There’s a microwave with plates and cutlery if you want to heat your own food, and parking was easy, with the payment machine opposite the lifts. Breakfast is included and was really good. I also like that you can hang a sign on the door to ask for a refresh and fresh towels. My one disappointment, since Covid, is the short-stay housekeeping policy used by so many chains. I hadn’t stayed in a Holiday Inn Express for years, but this exceeded my expectations. I’ll look for one again next time I need a hotel.
Luke on reception was a champ, and the rest of the staff were fantastic too. We booked at the last minute, and it turned out to be a great choice. The clean, comfortable room and breakfast with its amazing range were included in the price. It’s about a 20-minute walk into the city. My one concern was seeing a senior female staff member park in the disabled space right outside the door. I couldn’t see a badge, so it was disappointing to watch. Thanks, Yvonne, for your response. I appreciate that disabilities aren’t always visible, but had she displayed a badge I wouldn’t have mentioned it. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend the place.
The room and the rest of the hotel were clean, and the breakfast buffet was fresh. I was also pleased with where the hairdryer and plug socket were, right by the mirror. It’s a very nice hotel and I’d stay again. The parking is the only reason I’ve given four stars. There’s a decent car park behind the hotel, but I don’t think residents should have to pay when the hotel has its own parking. It costs £11 a night for residents and £24 for non-residents.
Luke made check-in easy and friendly. We’d mistakenly booked a twin instead of a double, and he was accommodating about changing our room. We paid £10 for parking, which you can arrange when you check in. The room was spacious, modern and clean, and good value for what we paid. For getting to the top of Lincoln, around Lincoln Cathedral and Steep Hill, Uber drivers can come right to the car park. It cost us £4 to get there, and it’s well worth a visit if you’re in town.
The breakfast was included and had enough choice for most tastes. The hotel was clean throughout, and it’s an easy 20-minute walk to the town centre. The front desk staff were friendly, though the breakfast staff didn’t really engage. All four of us found the beds uncomfortable, unfortunately. We’d still stay here again because of the location. Just keep in mind that parking in the hotel car park costs £10 per 24 hours.
