The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly, but even at a cheap price I don’t think this hotel is worth staying in. The room smelled, felt unclean and damp, and badly needed an upgrade. The window wouldn’t close fully, leaving the walls covered in condensation, peeling paint and damp. The bathroom looked poorly redecorated, with damp patches, holes and uneven tiles. The walls are incredibly thin, so you can hear everything: people talking in the corridors, TVs in other rooms and the bar downstairs. The shower just dribbled, and was either freezing cold or scalding hot. The hotel’s replies say complaints are taken on board and fixed, but it’s very clear that hasn’t happened.

The staff, food, sea view and location were all superb, but the hotel itself really needs a full revamp. Our room felt dull and unwelcoming. The shower leaked, the sink took about three minutes to drain, and the inside of the windows was filthy. The carpets need a deep clean, or better yet, replacing. A new smoke detector had been fitted, but someone had tried painting a grey circle around it and left the two old brackets in place. Come on, owners. Guests and staff deserve better.

Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, and the room was clean and basic, fine for a one night stay. The bathroom was average, with the toilet squeezed into a very tight spot and an extremely slippery shower floor. The hotel was noisy too, like a herd of elephants running up and down. Staff were helpful when they were around, but I had to go looking for someone more than once, both at check-in and when I wanted service at the bar. If I stayed again, I wouldn’t use the bar. The prices were ridiculously high.

The staff were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. We slept really well in the super comfortable beds, and the room was clean and comfortable. It had a gorgeous sea view, though condensation between the panes of glass spoiled it. The building itself needs a lot of work. Still, it’s comfortable and functional, and I’d recommend it if you want somewhere clean and tidy for a good night’s sleep.

Breakfast was plentiful, with continental choices as well as a Full English. No mushrooms, which wasn’t the end of the world, just saying. The staff were friendly and really nice, especially JULIE, who made our stay enjoyable. We were glad to find we share a love of football and Liverpool F.C., and we’ll be back sometime. We stayed Monday 26th jan 2026 and JULIE welcomed us at reception and showed us to our clean, cosy double room. The bathroom light wasn’t working. Maintenance came to look, but didn’t have the right bulb, so we were moved to a family room. Wow, it was spacious, with a large, clean bathroom. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the linen was clean, and the towels were fluffy.
