Breakfast was a great start to the day, with fresh, tasty English food and a good selection. The staff were friendly and helpful, too. My room was roomy, clean and well cared for, and it was only a short walk to the beach. It wasn’t facing the sea as advertised, which was a little disappointing, but the rest of the stay made up for that. Good value for the area, and I’d gladly recommend the hotel.

My friend called before they arrived to check whether the room would be accessible because her husband has breathing difficulties. She was told there were only seven steps, but when they got there, those steps led into the hotel, with more stairs up to the room that her husband couldn’t manage. There were no other rooms available, so they had to leave. They had paid on arrival, but the owners still refused to refund them. The room wasn’t accessible as they’d been told, and it felt like it had been sold to them under false pretences.

The room was clean, but very small and not well looked after in a few places. There was mould in both corners of the bath, cobwebs on the ceiling, and the door latch was really loose and needed fixing. It was also very hot, so a fan would’ve helped. My husband and I had one breakfast, which was very good.

The view from our so-called superior sea-view room was mostly the Carlton pub, and it was very noisy. You could only see the sea if you pressed your face to the window. We paid a premium for that room and stayed just one of the two nights we’d booked because we were so disappointed. The hotel said it couldn’t refund us because we booked through booking. com, but customer services said it still could. If you want a sea view, beware. This should be advertised as a partial sea view, and we could’ve booked somewhere down a back street for half the price.

We loved our two nights at White Court, and the hotel was quiet at night with stylish, good-quality facilities. It’s right on the promenade, with plenty of good restaurants nearby. Breakfast had a nice range of cereals and tea, coffee and juice, and the mushrooms were especially good. The lady at the hotel was patient and kind, giving us recommendations for local attractions and food on our first visit to Wales. She really seemed to care about her guests. Five out of five, and we’d visit again.
