The wedding setting was beautiful and gave the whole celebration a special feel. We were there from Friday until today for my uncle’s wedding, and the family room was clean, comfortable, and really nice. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The bar staff, both the barman and barwoman, were especially welcoming and helpful. The food was great at the wedding and for breakfast and dinner, with breakfast a particular highlight. Staff checked in to make sure we were being looked after. Lovely atmosphere, and we had a wonderful stay for the occasion. We’d happily recommend it.

We booked the venue for our wedding 19 months ahead, and some of the reviews we read during that wait left my wife and me pretty worried about whether the day would match what we’d imagined. Once we checked in, those fears faded. The team were warm and welcoming, and management went out of their way to make sure we left with happy memories. Everyone seemed to care about how things went for us. Richard handled the wedding coordination, and it was more than perfect. Everything ran smoothly, with real attention to detail, so we felt supported and relaxed all day. The food was better than we expected too. We had the wedding we’d dreamed of, without a single fault, and our family and guests were delighted and left with lovely memories. Thanks to the whole team for making the day unforgettable.

For the price, it’s a nice place, and I liked the historic feel of the rooms and building. The food was alright too, nothing I can complain about too much. But the moth problem is huge. There were moths in my mug, and when I was on my phone in the dark they kept trying to land on the screen. I get that an old building might have some, but there were so many. There was mold in the ceiling corners as well, and the carpets look old and need frequent professional cleaning. Otherwise, I don’t see the moths going away. If people stay more than 2 days, their clothes might end up with holes from the moths eating the fabric. Moth traps won’t solve it.

The room was clean and spacious, with a nice bathroom, though there was no bath despite what the booking said. Breakfast from the buffet was good, and the staff were friendly enough. Still, at check-in nobody offered details about the facilities or breakfast times, and there was no information in the room, so we had to ask. The spa closes at 1830, so there isn’t much to do in the evening. We came for a relaxing night, but kids and their parents were jumping into the pool even though signs said “no jumping,” and no staff were visible around the pool. The pool itself is nice but dated and worn, like the decor inside. The outside looks good and the location is pleasant. There’s a lot of potential here, but it needs investment.
