The Man v horse race brought me here 40+ years ago, and I enjoyed seeing all the photos on the walls this time. We came for an evening meal, the food was great and really good value, and the lady behind the bar was so lovely.

There were about 26 of us on a rambling holiday, and we all had a brilliant stay. The hotel looks a bit tired, but it’s clean and the service is excellent. We got huge, tasty breakfasts, packed lunches, tea and cake when we returned at 4 pm, then delicious three-course dinners with plenty of variety. The fresh towels every day were an unexpected bonus. I’d happily go back and recommend this little gem.

There’s loads of history here, along with good beer and pub grub. It feels like it’s been frozen in time, which makes the place special. Long may it stay that way. Places like this need preserving at all costs.

This lovely old pub gave us a warm welcome when we stopped for dinner on the way home from a break in south Wales. The home-cooked food was warm and well priced. I’d definitely recommend it ☺️

The rooms have an old-fashioned, quirky feel, but they were comfortable and clean. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast, with the bar and restaurant right there. A really warm welcome and fantastic character, too. Great last-minute find in the heart of mid Wales. We’ll definitely be back.
