Artist Residence London

The room itself was gorgeous, with a very comfortable bed, a great shower, and lovely products. I also appreciated the heated towel rail and how well stocked it was, including an umbrella and adaptor. The staff experience was a real letdown. Reception was often empty, and even after pressing the bell we usually had to wait a long time. The first man who met us was unfriendly and bluntly said check-in was at 3 when we asked at 2 whether the room might be ready. Nobody welcomed us or explained the amenities. At check-in another man was nice, but the overall service still felt poor and out of step with the hotel's general atmosphere. Very disappointing.

Thank you for a fantastic Christmas party last night. Calmer Clinics had a wonderful spread of food, and the space felt cosy and classy with its Christmas decorations. Adam took great care of our guests and made incredible cocktails all night. Thanks so much!

The room was okay and had plenty of towels, but the chair was stained, worn, and clearly needed refurbishment. I didn't try the restaurant. Service was good, and I'd recommend the place for a short stay in London.

The food was good, but the way the front of house manager treated us was aggressive and completely unprofessional. Our group unexpectedly grew from eight to nine, so I asked a member of wait staff for another chair. She offered one from the empty table beside us. A few minutes later, the manager came over and shouted that we had 'stolen a chair.' I calmly explained that his colleague had given it to us. He replied, 'oh she’s drunk', then made the child using the chair get up and hand it back. He claimed there wasn't another chair anywhere in the half-empty restaurant. Eventually he returned with a chair from downstairs, but by then the whole group was upset, especially the teenager he'd made leave the chair his colleague had offered. We didn't feel welcome at any point. The kitchen staff should feel let down by this treatment, which isn't the standard I'd expect from Artist Residence. We ate at the restaurant today.
