Ember Locke, Kensington

We had a lovely three-night stay at the end of January, and the team made us feel right at home. Thanks to John, Rose, the chef, and everyone else we met, they were all terrific, even if I can't remember every name. Our wheelchair-accessible room was spacious, with plenty of room for luggage, a full kitchen with a washer/dryer, and a bathroom that worked well for us. The bed was comfortable and the TV was fine. The shower pressure could have been better. Breakfast was delicious, and I was glad they had a vegan option, which we'd struggled to find elsewhere.

The room was a peaceful little refuge, completely quiet since it faced the garden at the back. I can't speak to how quiet the front-facing rooms are. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the colourful, plush room was a beautiful place to spend time. Every staff member at Ember Locke was kind, genuine, and helpful during my eight-day stay, which was a stressful time while my husband was having heart surgery nearby. The hotel itself has a lively atmosphere but still feels comfortable. I have nothing bad to say. If you're after a stay in South Kensington, you won't be disappointed.

The Ember Suite had loads of space for our family, including our 20-month-old, on our London trip. The whole team was so kind and accommodating, especially Nosh. We’ve stayed at a few places abroad, and this has been our favourite. A 12/10 stay, and we’ll absolutely be back!

John at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful, and even remembered all our names. He set a fun, welcoming, inclusive tone, which carried through the whole hotel. When one of us got food poisoning, the staff came to our rescue and were so accommodating. We stayed over Christmas and had a really lovely time. The rooms were comfortable, the restaurant food was lovely, and the bar and lounge area were gorgeous. We’d definitely recommend it.
