My boyfriend surprised me with a stay here for our anniversary, and it brought a tear to my eye. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are amazing, and we had a great experience all around. If you stay, get the room service cookies. They were the best, most mouth-watering cookies you’ll ever eat!

The location was perfect, with amazing views of Hyde Park and nightlife around Harrods at Knightsbridge. I loved the sparkling tea selection, and the bedding and linen were just right. Our stay was immaculate, with hospitable staff from check-in through the spa and fitness area. Can’t wait to visit again.

The manager eventually came over and cleared up the confusion about the nuts. Since our friend had ordered drinks but no food, she said the complimentary nuts should have been provided. She removed the service charge, sincerely apologized for the delay and misunderstanding, and offered macarons as a kind gesture. We declined them, but appreciated the offer. We were only visiting the restaurant for drinks, not staying at the hotel. The saffron tea was enjoyable and the desserts were very good, though they arrived after we’d finished our drinks. We had to remind the server. The hot chocolate was average and tasted more like a powdered mix. When we asked if our friend would get complimentary nuts, we were told no because the table had ordered desserts, which was confusing. The server seemed disengaged and inattentive. For a five-star place, the service didn’t initially meet expectations. People come somewhere like this for a treat, and good service matters to that experience.

The flowers in the lobby made a lovely welcome, and the atmosphere felt grand. It’s an elegant, classic luxury hotel. Matilda was excellent when checking us in, and everyone we met at Rosebery during our late breakfast was great too. The lady at the spa, who I think was Italian, was also stellar. Beautiful hotel and wonderful hospitality.
