Novotel London Greenwich

Greenwich station is right next door, so it was a great base for Greenwich and trips into central London. We even found a free space in the underground car park, and the long-stay price seemed pretty good for the area. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, and the facilities were good. Our room faced the station, but we couldn't hear the frequent trains. We'll be back :-)

The parking entrance is on the left side of the hotel, and you can pay at reception. The banners in the parking lot can be confusing. As for the stay, this was the best Accor property I've tried in the UK. The staff showed real warmth and care, and went out of their way to help. The atmosphere was just right, the rooms were clean, and it was beautifully quiet. It exceeded my expectations, and I'd highly recommend it.

Tanya, manager Martha, and the bar staff were warm and attentive, and the room itself was very clean. Their service showed the hotel can deliver a much better experience. But some other staff interactions were disappointing and didn't feel professional. I also waited over 1.5 hours for housekeeping to deal with a problem in the room I was first given, which was a poor start after arriving. Those issues affected what could otherwise have been an excellent stay. I hope the hotel takes the feedback seriously.

The location beside Greenwich station was handy, with a Sainsbury just a three-minute walk away. Restaurant staff were friendly and attentive, and breakfast was okay. Parking is available for £25 per day. The room, though, was really stuffy and the air conditioning didn't work. Reception sent a technician, but they couldn't fix it, and even with a standing fan the room stayed warm and stuffy. Housekeeping only emptied the bins and changed the towels. They didn't make the bed or clear tissues and dust or rubbish from the floor. Pretty disappointing for a Novotel.
