St Christopher's Inn Oasis London Bridge - Female

The 4 bed female dorm was so cramped and badly laid out that only one person could be out of bed at a time. Luggage goes in rolling cages under the bunks, but there's barely enough room to pull the cages out and get your things. The bunks creak loudly and make crunching sounds, and feel like they might tip when you climb the ladder. The full length mirror they advertise is stuck at the end of the bed by the garbage can, with hardly any room to stand in front of it. I also saw photos online with bed curtains, but there weren't any. The heating smelled awful, and 2/3 of the toilets in the women's only section didn't work. Again, my room was SO small. Unless you want to queue just to reach your bed or get your stuff, don't stay in the 4 bed female dorm. Do yourself a favour and stay at Wombat’s instead!!!!!

I was supposed to have the room through 01/04, but on 31/03 I came back and found my belongings, including what was in the locker, had been removed. Staff handed everything back in garbage bags and said a school group or something had booked the room earlier. Nobody had told me I needed to move. The manager even questioned whether I’d been informed, though I hadn’t. The staff’s indifference made the whole thing worse. Don’t let anyone handle your personal things without your consent. I wouldn’t stay here.

The rooms were fairly clean and the location was good, but the noise from the bar downstairs came through the thin walls and windows until 2 a.m. on a Tuesday. There were only two toilets per floor, one with a broken seat, for around 12 rooms holding two to eight people each. They charged us to leave our bags, which meant carrying them downstairs, then back up several narrow flights through the bar. The receptionist said it cost extra after checkout because we were no longer checked in, but we were also charged when we arrived before 3 p.m. It felt like they wanted to charge at every chance. I’d avoid it.

The location is good, but the room was badly cleaned. The blanket and mattress were very dirty inside, and there were insects and bugs in the room. I even saw a cockroach in the toilets. The towels were changed each day, but every one smelled. Check-in was strictly at 3 p.m. I’d arrived at night and waited 13 hours, yet they still wouldn’t let me in five minutes before 3. They told me to wait those five minutes.
