The main things were all right, and we’d all stay again. It was fantastic value for money. We stayed in the double chamber suite as four friends, and the flat was huge, very spacious, and had thoughtful facilities. The beds were extremely comfortable, there was lots of storage for clothes and personal things, and it was very clean. Housekeeping was fantastic, making the beds, replenishing the coffee pods, and cleaning the bathroom. The air conditioning was excellent too. We did notice a few snags. There was no welcome pack when we arrived, so we didn’t have the WiFi code or drinks tokens. The WiFi was poor and kept switching to 5G in the bedrooms. The TVs weren’t great either: terrestrial reception didn’t work in the bedrooms, and we couldn’t get it on in the lounge, though we could log into apps like Netflix. The shower pressure was weak, there were no wine or champagne glasses despite the other high quality crockery and glassware, and there weren’t enough comfortable lounge seats for four to sit in front of the TV. The layout also felt a bit odd to us. The living area doesn’t get much natural light, and a big part of the space is taken up by a console table by the front door that doesn’t do much. In our view, moving the dining table there and making the seating area next to the kitchenette larger would improve it. Still, that’s just our personal take.

I loved the artwork and design throughout, from the bar to the rooms. During my three nights, I had no issues with how I was welcomed or treated. The room was cleaned and the bins emptied daily once I left the housekeeping notice. I also hadn’t expected the daily water, and got two tokens for free cocktails. I really enjoyed the stay, and checking out online made leaving easier. I’d give it 9.8/10, keeping the 0.2, haha.

We’ve stayed at The Hux twice now, and both visits were relaxing, with a warm welcome. The bar’s great for cocktails and live music, and I loved the decor throughout the hotel and in our room. For my husband’s birthday, the staff put up a banner and left chocolates in the room, and gave us two happy hour bar tokens. They also let us check out an hour late because he was doing a 10k charity run the next day. We were soaked from the rain, so that extra time was much appreciated. The hotel is opposite Hyde Park and a five minute walk from High Street Kensington station. It’s a great spot for a weekend or long weekend, and we’re looking forward to going back. 😁

The street outside can get a little noisy at night, though that’s expected for the location. We got a really good deal by booking directly on the hotel website after finding it through a third party site. The location was great, and I liked the decor and atmosphere. The bar had a lovely feel in the evening and incredible cocktails. The staff were wonderful throughout and took great care of us.

The staff were brilliant, consistently positive and helpful, some of the best people we’ve met in years. They added a lot to our enjoyment, and the owner should know what a great team they have. The room was comfortable, quiet, and nicely decorated, with nothing to complain about there. We booked The Hux for a last-minute London weekend because we needed to be near the Royal Albert Hall, and the location worked out really well. The hotel itself is quirky, individual, and funky, which suited us. We can’t fault it, and know where we’ll head next time we’re in London.
