If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give. The management seemed very greedy and showed no understanding of a family emergency. They said they couldn't refund me but could reschedule, then refused to reschedule and told me to handle it myself through booking com. They waited until the last day and cancelled afterwards. They also said an exception was possible only if I booked another trip directly with the hotel, not through booking com. Given the booking.com price, save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.

I got the year wrong when booking, choosing 2026 instead of 2025, and spotted the mistake straight away. I called the hotel immediately, but the manager was extremely unaccommodating. He said approving a change was at his discretion, then chose not to help and offered no solution. It's very disappointing for a manager to show so little understanding or flexibility. Mistakes happen, and I expected some customer service, especially from management.

At check-in I was sent to a sister hotel and put in the smallest room, with the thinnest walls I've ever experienced. From what I've read in other reviews, this seems to happen often.

The receptionist was really kind and helpful. I liked the hotel a lot, and the rooms were comfortable and very clean. The location was great too.

All the staff were very friendly, and I had a good two-night stay. The room and bathroom were a bit more spacious than at the other Mornington in the area, and this one felt more up to date. The foam-like protector under the sheets made the bed squishy and left me feeling as though I might roll off, so I slept a little way in from the edge. It was still pretty comfortable. The walls are thin and you can hear sounds from outside, but there was never noise at night, so it didn't bother me much.
