Z Hotels London Soho

The staff were very friendly, and food and drinks are available all night. The location is great, and the courtyard in the middle of the hotel is quirky. Rooms are very small, and water can splash everywhere when you shower. Noise could be an issue if it bothers you, but it didn't bother me, so I was fine.

The staff were polite and the service was really good. They even let us check in two hours early, which was a nice bonus. The room was pretty small, but we only needed somewhere to sleep, and the location made up for it. Step outside and you're less than 30 seconds from either the Harry potter theatre or the MJ musical. Pretty epic. A very positive stay.

The team here are super friendly, and you get water by the bed along with tea and coffee. Sky TV was a nice distraction from the tiny room. The bed is really hard, though that happened to help my bad back. If you like a soft bed, this probably isn't for you. The shower had good pressure, but water went everywhere because the room is so small. The bathrooms are quite see-through, so I wouldn't stay with friends, though it was fine alone or as a couple. The rooms are tiny for the price, and this hotel is a bit of a marmite experience. Still, I'd come back if you're okay with all that.

You're here for the location: right among the theatres, close to a tube station, and surrounded by restaurants and bars. It's a lively block with plenty to watch. The rooms are just sufficient. In the Z Inside Double, the bed takes up nearly the whole room, with a bathroom and barely enough floor for the door to open. One suitcase can fit under the bed, but a backpack has to stay on the floor. There's no wardrobe, just hooks on the door for jackets or shirts. It's somewhere to crash at night, not hang out. The shower worked, but the head gave a high pressure mist and could only be adjusted for flow. I found a third to half pressure best. At max temperature it was fine, but lower felt like it would be cold. WiFi signal was only okay, and my devices kept logging out and needing me to sign in again through a captive portal. Storage is very limited, as above.
