Bishop's Gate Hotel

We had to postpone our trip because of illness, and the staff were completely understanding and made no fuss about it. When we did stay, Niamh and Robyn at the desk were particularly helpful and accommodating, especially with our 18-month-old. Clara and the other waiting staff were lovely, and the food was excellent. We had a wonderful time and will be back again and again.

We came for food on 26th Feb and left after paying for our drinks without eating. We’d asked for a table in the bar for the bar food menu, but were seated with the restaurant menu instead. After ordering from the “Signature Dish” section, we were told there were no tomahawks. The server also walked away before taking our sides or sauces. We were seated at 7.15pm, and by 8.25pm our food still hadn’t arrived. We had no drinks, no apology for the wait, and no offer of more drinks. At 8.20pm we asked if the food would be coming soon, having already waited an hour, but were left for another five minutes with no update. The service was awful.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel has a relaxed feel, with good food, nice drinks, and a pleasant place to chat with family and friends. Staff were amazing. Patrick, Niamh, Clare and Robyn made us feel welcome, and their tips on things to do and places to go were really useful. The car valet service was superb, with electric vehicle charging available for a small fee, which came in handy. We’ll definitely return.

The place feels high quality, and management seems to pay attention to all the little details. I love coming here. The team are always friendly, and the coffee and food are great.
