The location worked really well, and the rooms were nice with a very welcoming staff. Breakfast was very good, though dinner was just mediocre, neither terrible nor especially good. We were glad to see a village pub doing well, but with two early starts we needed sleep. A band one night and karaoke the next were so loud from downstairs that we couldn't get to sleep until very late. There's also a lovely Indian restaurant in the village.

Downstairs, there was a proper log fire in the bar, and my en-suite room was lovely and comfortable. The welcoming hostelry really did give me “shelter from the storm” (Goretti). Highly recommend.

We keep coming back year after year because we love this place. The food feels like home cooking, and that's been true across 10+ visits. Our grandkids loved it last year, so we're happy too. The staff are amazing, and the prices are really good 👍

The menu had plenty to choose from, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we got a wonderfully warm welcome on a very wet day. We were visiting family, but we'd definitely come back next time we're in the area.

We popped in for dinner on Saturday evening, and I left full and happy. The pub style food was very good, and the dining room has a great view of the church and beyond. There was a band in the garden, which was very 👍. Emma runs the restaurant side and is really charming, actually AWESOME ;-) We laughed and told her she'd get the credit where it was due. She's a great ambassador for this pub and the friendly folk of Lostwithiel in general.
