The location is absolutely stunning, and we had a beautiful birthday morning watching the sun rise over the beach. But honestly, we might have had a better night sleeping in the car. My partner booked this for my birthday, and while the receptionist was lovely and welcoming, the room was a shock after seeing the impressive seating and reception area. It was tiny, outdated, basic, and had a stained carpet. We only needed somewhere to sleep, so I tried not to complain and make my partner feel bad. There was no tea or coffee in the room, though we were told we could get it at reception, and at 9pm we were told there wasn't really anywhere to get food, just pot noodles, which I passed on. The lift wasn't working, though that wasn't an issue for us. The bathroom was very dirty, with hair from the previous guest and water marks on the shower doors. The toilet brush in the room was a big no-no for me. I'd brought bottled water and my own towel, and ended up not wanting to use the shower. The bed was comfortable, but the room was unbearably cold all night despite the very loud heating. The wind howled through the window, which might as well have been nonexistent, even with the curtains held against the wall by chairs. I have multiple chronic pain disabilities, and the cold caused a lot of pain and a flare-up. This room shouldn't be sold in that condition. There wasn't any staff around overnight to help, either. Luckily, I have an amazing partner and we left very early to watch the sunrise.

Our turret room was amazing, with views over the village and the sea, and it was cosy and spotlessly clean. Staff were fantastic and very helpful. Shops, pubs, cafes, and the coastal path are just a short walk away. A lovely place to stay in Linton, and very good value, especially for this area.

Avoid. The hotel has a mix of renovated rooms and some in terrible condition. During our November stay there was no working elevator, hot water, or heating, and neither the electric towel heaters nor the toilet in our first room worked. Management knew about the hot water problem before we arrived but didn't tell us, then failed to offer an acceptable refund. After we chased them for a week, they offered 15% back, which I still haven't received. I felt terrible for the staff, who worked as hard as they could to keep guests comfortable and informed.

It was just what we wanted, and we'd happily stay again. The place was clean and comfortable, exactly as described, with very friendly staff and a brilliant location. We paid a small extra amount for a parking space right behind the hotel, which was well worth it. Breakfast places are easy to find within walking distance. Very good value for money.

The room was really grotty and the bed was horrible and uncomfortable. The whole building was freezing, with single-glazed windows. There was an obviously obsolete radiator in the room, another that only warmed slightly after we fiddled with it, and a plug-in oil radiator that wasn't switched on. They could have turned it on before we arrived. The desk staff member was friendly, the only positive I can give. The lifts don't work, and finding the room was a task. There are only 5 parking spaces, so you need to pay to park in the local car park.
