The Knowes Hotel & Restaurant

Really lovely staff and excellent food. It’s locally sourced, and the chunky chips are made fresh in the kitchen. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

We travelled from Fraserburgh, where we were staying, to have a special meal after renewing our vows that day. The restaurant didn’t disappoint. The food was excellent, and we had lovely views over the sea. Would highly recommend it.

The views are stunning, and the menu is incredible. A wonderful restaurant, highly recommended. Just wear sensible shoes, as the car park is a little steep.

I’d rate this 10/10. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and kindly kept my bag before and after my stay. The dining room looks out over the town and sea towards Banff, and breakfast was very good quality, with the usual cooked and continental choices. I didn’t try dinner, though I understand it’s highly regarded locally. The rooms are spacious, with big comfortable beds and plenty of storage. Mine was in a new extension that I understand had opened only a couple of months earlier, so everything was in great condition. The decor was nicely put together, and the cleanliness was faultless, absolutely spotless. There’s a big TV, decent sized desk, kettle with tea and coffee, hairdryer, ironing facilities, electronic safe, and the usual bits. Probably the best Scottish hotel I’ve stayed in.
