The evening turned out lovely, despite a frustrating start. The grounds were very nice, the atmosphere was good, and the service was very good. The seven-course tasting menu was great. I’d asked for a birthday candle in my husband’s dessert and was promised one, but it never appeared, which was disappointing. We struggled to find the car entrance because the signage was terrible, and it wasn’t clear where to park or where reception was. It would have helped to have instructions by email.

Dinner in the Greys was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the ordered cooked breakfast was scrumptious. Our room was clean and well stocked, and the whole building smelled delightful. It’s a beautiful building with lovely grounds. A couple of small things: my partner would have preferred a firmer pillow, and the breakfast buffet looked like it had been sitting out for a while. The fruit was starting to turn and the cheese was getting hard.

The outdoor signs for non-residents could be a little clearer. We eventually spotted the small button to open the courtyard doors, and luckily had a map to enjoy the gardens on our way back to the car park. We had afternoon tea by the fire at 1330 on 29 October 2025 as a birthday gift. It was superb, probably the best tea we’ve had anywhere in all our travels. The team member serving us was confident, well-trained and very welcoming. The whole experience was superb!

A lovely setting in a beautiful old classic Cotswold manor house, with nice gardens for a stroll and farmers’ fields all around. It made for a very relaxing visit. The small plates restaurant was very good, and the service was especially friendly and welcoming.

The gardens at Whatley Manor were stunning and beautifully kept. We had both breakfast and dinner at Grey's Brasserie, which was a great bonus because it welcomes dogs. The food was lovely, though a little too salty for our taste. We were there for a special celebration, my furry friend's birthday, and the reception staff were incredibly friendly from the start. They all knew my dog's name and knew it was his special day. Our Junior Suite was spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. Housekeeping was very attentive and efficient, tidying the room while we were at breakfast.
