Holiday Inn Manchester Airport by IHG

We’ve already booked another stay for our next holiday. The restaurant was a highlight this time, with good food and friendly, helpful service. We were happy to pay the service charge because the service was so good, though I find it irritating that it’s added automatically. It’s mentioned in the small print and can be removed if you ask, but most people probably won’t. It would be more transparent to include it in the menu prices. The room was quiet and comfortable, reception gave us a friendly welcome, and the price was reasonable. It’s so convenient for T2 that this is our usual choice for an early flight from Manchester.

We walked from the train station to the hotel quickly the evening before our flight to New York, which was a nice extra. It’s definitely a good place to stay for Terminal 2. Breakfast had a great selection, and the restaurant staff were welcoming and showed us where everything was. The room was a good size, had some extras, and the bed was comfortable for a good night’s sleep. The receptionist was polite and gave excellent service both when we checked in and out. IHG certainly delivered.

We booked online and paid £25 a day to park in the hotel car park for two days. After we got home, we received a fine from the company running the car park, then another £200 fine from the Airport because you have to drive through the drop-off area to reach the hotel. This has been going on for months and still isn’t sorted. It’s been such a faff, and I’m really annoyed. We won’t stay here again.

Lekshmi looked after me in the restaurant that evening, and her warm, professional service made the experience special. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent. I felt very welcome during my stay and was very satisfied with the hotel, especially the restaurant. I’d happily come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
