Travelodge Manchester Central

I arrived late for breakfast and was having trouble walking with my leg in a splint. Owens, a very nice young man, went out of his way to look after me. Nothing was too much trouble. He was kind, empathetic and professional, a real credit to the hotel and its staff selection, training and management. Many thanks. Earlier, I’d stopped at the bar after finishing work early. Stacey helped me with the menu, and I ordered sweet potato wedges with barbecue dip and a pot of tea. The service was quick and efficient, and the wedges took the edge off missing lunch. Stacy was charming, courteous, informative and professional. She made me feel like the most important guest in the bar. She seems to have a natural grasp of hospitality, and I’m sure she’ll go far. There was a party across from the hotel, and the noise was pretty loud at night. The bathtub drain was another small problem, since water built up quickly while I showered. Still, the hotel was nice, the rooms fairly spacious, and the stay pleasant apart from those issues.

We felt safe and secure the whole time, and the rooms were quiet, warm, clean and comfortable. We stayed in an updated family room with a bed. I’d requested a cot bed through customer services, but it wasn’t there when we arrived. The staff found one and brought it up for us. They were so helpful at every hour, even offering to hold my crying baby while I tried to eat. Thank you! Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, and the central location meant we could walk to the markets and other things to do. Parking was free because we have a blue badge. It’s a very small car park, and staff helped us register the badge. One suggestion for the cleaning team: please think about where the trolleys are left. We had to move them several times a day because we couldn’t get the stroller through the hallway. There’s space elsewhere in the hall, or perhaps they could go into the rooms being serviced. It could be a real problem for a single parent or someone in a wheelchair who can’t move them. Otherwise, we’d return. Thanks.

We’ve stayed at Travelodge Manchester Central twice, and both visits were great. It’s a handy base, five minutes on foot from Deansgate’s bars and restaurants and about ten minutes from the Arndale Shopping Centre and Market Street. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, and all the team members were friendly and helpful. The toilets look a bit dated and could do with refurbishment. Everything else was excellent, and we’d happily come back.
