Do not book here unless you don’t care about hygiene or health. They advertised our room as having an en suite, but it didn’t. We had to share a bathroom with who knows how many people, and it seemed to be in use almost constantly. It was filthy. Our room had bed bugs, and so did the room they moved us to as an “upgrade.” We barely slept because we couldn’t use the beds. Once home, we had to treat all our belongings to stop the bugs spreading.

The place is a mess and feels unsafe. You have to walk through someone’s living room to reach your room while they’re all sitting there, which is really awkward. It reeks of weed, and you can hear everything, so people can hear you too. The room codes are all the same for everyone in the “hotel,” so there’s no guarantee your belongings are safe. There’s no proper check-in or checkout either, just a code on your phone that you have to give them when you knock. The walls and tables were covered in grime and thick dust, and there was a rizzler left by the last person. There was barely a bed to sleep on, and the carpet and sheets were stained. I don’t know how they’re getting away with it. The name of this place is so ironic. Reviews on other third-party booking sites are clearly fake. If you go, expect the worst. Genuinely, don’t go here. It’s not safe for anyone.

We booked and paid upfront on 11/05/2025. Then today, they cancelled my booking, saying they’d sprung a leak just before one of the biggest gigs Manchester has ever had, but they’re still taking bookings on Booking.com. Absolutely disgusting. How they’re allowed to get away with this is beyond me. Shame on you, Oyo The Pleasant House, Manchester. Adam, though I doubt that’s your real name, your customer service skills need some work.

We left because I felt so uncomfortable. The place was scruffy and dirty, and the outside door was just a standard interior door with a lock added, so it felt really unsafe. We booked through Booking.com, but the room we were shown was completely different from the pictures. Even though we’d paid in full, the staff member asked for more money on arrival for a key deposit that hadn’t been mentioned when booking. They stood in the room while we said we’d go out to get the money, since we didn’t have cash. Basically a scam.
