Staycity Aparthotels Manchester Piccadilly

The staff gave us a free upgrade on the day, a lovely surprise. Our room was gorgeous, really clean and tidy, with proper blackout curtains and no outside noise. The bed was probably one of the comfiest I've slept in. I'd absolutely come back.

The apartment was comfortable enough, but some parts felt cheap and below the quality I expected. What spoiled the stay was the staff's handling of our confirmed late checkout. Jamie came into the room and asked if we were leaving, even though we'd paid and were entitled to stay. When I raised it at reception, he smiled and seemed smug, saying, “Well, I knocked so,” then turned back to his computer still smiling. The two other staff there, a man with glasses and frizzy black hair and a female colleague, seemed amused, which felt deeply disrespectful. Jamie appeared to be in a senior or managerial role, so this left me concerned about training, leadership and service standards. The lack of respect for our booking and privacy was unacceptable. We won't return, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel unless staff conduct improves. This needs addressing urgently.

Only thing I'd pick on is the washer dryer, which needs a thorough clean. I'll be washing all my clothes again at home. Otherwise, a great place in an excellent location. I got upgraded to a spacious two bed, two bath suite that would have worked well for a long stay.

The free bus right outside made getting around for sightseeing easy, and Manchester Piccadilly train station is right next to the hotel. Staff were warm and helpful, and clearly trying hard for guests. We were delighted by the room upgrade, and Jamie kindly helped with our luggage. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Of all the apartment hotels I've stayed in, this is the highest standard. Our stay was unforgettable, thank you! 😭❤️
