The coffee wasn't good, and I need my starter in the morning! Everything else was great, though. The room had a very comfy bed and a good temperature, the food was superb, and breakfast was hearty and well cooked. The chef was friendly, the bar and waiting staff were great, and the dog was wonderful. Good parking and a great atmosphere too. We'll come back, Sherwood is lovely, and this was also a good base for Creswell Crags, which made for another great day out.

The atmosphere was terrible, and the staff were very rude. There were only two people in the whole pub, yet I felt unwelcome. You'd think they'd appreciate having customers. There was a vile smell throughout the place.

It was a huge disappointment. The room looked nothing like the pictures online, smelled like sewage, and felt unhygienic to stay in. The floor was uneven enough to make the whole room seem tilted, and the windows were dirty. There was no hot water in the bath either. The man at reception was nice and accommodating, and the replacement room we asked for was better than the first. Even so, we were pretty glad to get home.

We stopped in for a pint and our tea. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, and our dog was welcomed with treats. The meal looked great and tasted delicious. 5 ⭐

We had a weekend break at the forest lodge. The staff were friendly, and there's a nice large car park. Our room was clean and tidy, warm, and very nice, with a comfortable bed, large TV and a nice shower. One small thing, the kettle cord may need extending because it didn't reach the plug.
