We were there at 1.30, an hour and a half after they start serving, and the food was only okay and should have been warmer. When we mentioned it while paying, the girl at the desk said the food sits out on the counter, so the later you come, the cooler it gets. That sounded like saying by 3.30 we'd be chipping ice off our dinners. I've never heard such an excuse for cold food. We were really disappointed and won't be rushing back. Check your bill too, they tried to charge us £7.95 for a can of soft drink.

A big step up from what was here before. It's a great bar, the staff are friendly and the prices are good. The beer selection is pretty limited, though.

The windows are single-glazed, so every footstep, toilet flush and banging door carries through, and the bath was stained enough that I would NOT get in it. Even though the hotel looks grand from outside and a Garden room sounds nice, the 'garden' is actually a car park. Inside, the rooms feel more like 1960s Butlins chalets. Very disappointing.

The breakfast porridge was the best we had in Scotland on this trip. We also had an exceptional meal in the restaurant. Our garden room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel had a secure place for our bikes. A very nice stay in Moffat at The Annandale Arms.

We had dinner in the bar and the food was very nice, and the hotel is right in the centre of town with car parking available. Our large room was adequately furnished, with tea, coffee and biscuits, but it was stuffy and we couldn't open the windows. The shower was okay, though the curtain wasn't great. We skipped breakfast. It's unlikely we'll stay again.
