The food was delicious, and everyone was brilliant. We found this perfect lunch spot while visiting Montacute House. There was an enticing menu, a great choice of excellent Real Ales, and a very friendly welcome. Definitely worth eating here if you're nearby. Thank you Kelly 🙂

We thought we'd try it under the new ownership, and the food was outstanding from starter through main to dessert. The staff made us feel welcome and were attentive, with a log fire roaring in the background. No doubt we'll be back very soon.

After visiting the National Trust property Montacute next door, we fancied lunch somewhere else and tried the Phelips Arms. The hosts were very welcoming, and the lunch menu was good without being expensive. We'll definitely return next time we're in the area. Fortunately, it was a Thursday, since they close on Monday and Tuesday.

We stayed one night after a local wedding, and what a cracking place. The rooms were clean, tidy and welcoming, the staff friendly and helpful, and there's parking opposite. Breakfast was excellent too. I'll call in again next time I'm in the area.

The room was comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was decent. There's a good pub menu with proper classics like steak and ale pie, ham, egg and chips, and steak and chips. They also have games and social activities, including bingo when we visited.
