Premier Inn Newton Abbot

India and Millie were especially helpful, so I want to thank them again. The whole hotel was lovely and clean, and I didn’t run into any problems during my stay. The staff were incredibly nice and hardworking. I loved being here, and the restaurant is well worth trying. The food was very nice, and the meal deal was great value.

The room was clean and sterile, so I had no complaints there, but it felt very expensive for what you get. The air conditioning was faulty, stopping or flashing error messages while blowing cold air in the middle of winter. I ended up switching it off. Sleeping was difficult too: the extraction fan ran all night, then at 7am sharp it roared up like a jet engine. There was no way to control it.

The room cleanliness was a letdown on our second stay. Dust had settled on the lamps and furniture, and the bathroom had mould and a dirty floor. That’s a shame, because we had a good two days visiting family, the service and location at this Premier Inn were really good, the beds were very comfortable, and there was a good restaurant and facilities close by. I’d still recommend it.

After a full day of work, we arrived early at 6pm feeling starving, though we’d been told to book a table for 7:40pm. We went to the restaurant and ordered drinks when a waitress asked if we wanted any. Then we overheard her telling another table that hardly any food was left. No chicken or steak, nothing much nutritious, apparently just fish and chips. They sold us drinks before telling us the kitchen had basically shut down. That’s poor service and coordination. If you’re expecting a proper evening meal after a long workday, don’t bother. Absolutely shocking experience at Premier Inn.
