We’d eaten at another ‘hotel’ in Newtonmore first, where we didn’t enjoy the food, so we tried The Glen without booking. Luckily they had a table for us and our 8 year old grandson. The meal was excellent and we really enjoyed it, with wonderful service. The owner, a friendly and attentive Yorkshire lass, looked after everyone. The only thing we weren’t keen on was the music channel on the TV, perhaps because we’re a bit older. Thoroughly recommend The Glen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed, and breakfast offered plenty of choice. The husband and wife who run the hotel are friendly, chatty, and professional. I emailed ahead to arrange things, then changed my mind a few times, but they were easygoing throughout. I’d definitely book here again if I return to the area. Nothing to complain about.

We stopped by while passing through on 28 March and had a really enjoyable lunch. The welcome from the lovely Yorkshire born woman was warm and friendly. We ordered two homemade soups, coconut and chicken for me and cream of vegetable for my friend. Both were hot, generous portions and delicious. We also shared toasted cheese and onion sandwiches with a small side salad, then finished with biscoffi ice cream sundaes. The hospitality was outstanding and the price was excellent. The Glen Hotel is well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed. Many thanks.

Newtonmore makes a handy base for exploring, with easy access to the main routes and plenty of activities and shops in the village. We parked right outside the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, with a huge king bed, lovely duvet and pillows, and a spacious, spotless bathroom with fluffy towels and soap gel for the basin and shower. There was a TV and free WiFi, plus tea and coffee, biscuits, and bottled water. We asked for more supplies and got them without any fuss. We ate dinner there on both nights, with lots of well prepared choices and a pleasant bar and dining area. Breakfast was fab too, with cereals, fruit, cheese and other cold options, plus a Full Scottish breakfast that could be adapted to suit us. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Like many small hotels dealing with staffing shortages, entry is by door code and reception opens in the late afternoon. Check in times are clearly given at booking and in the confirmation email, and the staff were happy to help whenever we needed it. We’d highly recommend this family run business 🤩
