Breakfast was amazing, with a great selection. Toni and the lady cooking were friendly and got everything spot on. The place was immaculately clean, and the bed was comfy, though our room was next to a door that kept slamming. Fab hotel in a great location. Definitely recommend.

The room and bathroom were clean, the telly worked fine, and I couldn’t really fault anything. The hotel did seem a little tired, though.

It was a very expensive two night stay, £191 in December, in a disgusting room. At reception, we weren’t even greeted with a smile. I tried to report the problems during our stay, but got no response when I called. I told the front desk at checkout and gave them our room number. The room was the dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever had the displeasure of staying in. There was dust in every corner, cobwebs on lampshades and hanging from light fittings, spills on furniture and woodwork that hadn’t been wiped, a dirty toilet and shower, and no toilet brush. The pillows had blood stains and the quilt was stained, with clean outer covers simply pulled over it. I have photos of all of this. It was 27 degrees centigrade in the room, and the temperature came down only very slowly over hours. It was far too hot for us to sleep. For two people in a double room, we got just one bath towel, one hand towel, one coffee sachet, one teabag and one cup each. The WiFi kept disconnecting and was unusable.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming, which was the saving grace. The accessible room didn’t work well for me. There was a bath instead of easier access, and I struggle to get in and out of one. It had no slip mat, and the grab rails were in an odd place. The bed was uncomfortable and only a normal double, not a king size. It didn’t suit two adults when one needs special cushions to sleep comfortably, so I got very little rest. There were only two disabled parking spaces, which isn’t enough for a hotel this size. Given the cost for one night, I’d also expect someone to be at the desk instead of having to ring a bell and wait to be checked in.
