Tudor House Hotel

Good value for the price. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy and clean, and there’s plenty of tea and coffee. Reception were helpful and knew their stuff. If you just want somewhere simple to get your head down, this place is great.

There was no service to speak of. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned before we checked in, and the toilet had excrement and urine in it. Mould covered the ceilings, and there was a leak that damaged my sister’s office bag. We weren’t warned about it beforehand. Disgusting and unsafe, I wouldn’t recommend it at all. -5/5

The place was dirty, and I’m pretty sure the bathroom mirror was two-way. It’s tiled into the wall, and the building’s fire layout map shows a staff cupboard behind it. Strange.

The mattress was the worst part. It felt like nothing but springs and should have been thrown out years ago. After one night on it, my ill mum couldn’t get up and had terrible pain all over her body. The second night made her health even worse. We paid £109 for two nights, more than at Travelodge, and expected something better, but the place felt like a dirty shelter. The bedding had blood stains and huge holes, and there was long hair everywhere, especially in our beds. Even the toilet roll was used and dirty. We were shamelessly robbed by this “hotel” and paid to be tortured. We demand our money back. SHAME ON YOU!
