Dogs are made very welcome, and the bar has a very good menu of superb quality food. The Cumberland sausage with mash and onion gravy, the spectacular salad, and the truly delicious brie and truffle mash were all standouts. Staff are great, though they often work alone at the bar, so service can be slow at times. The food is worth waiting for. There's an excellent choice of wine, cider, beer and spirits, including alcohol free options. Reasonably priced, A+++

Molly deserves a special mention for being so accommodating and a real front of house diamond. The booking platform had only registered two diners, but she sorted it quickly and found room for all five of us. We had a sensational meal and ate every morsel. You can tell there's a lot of love in the kitchen. We were so impressed. Thanks to the whole team for a special evening, highly recommend!

We've stayed here twice now, and both times have been perfect. On this stay the assistant manager James gave us a lovely welcome, and the room was perfect. Breakfast was really good, with Beth being a lovely hostess. We'll definitely stay again at this incredible place.

The hotel is right in the middle of Oakham, which makes it an ideal base for a few days in town. The rooms are clean and spacious, and we slept comfortably. We didn't eat in the restaurant, though it was busy both evenings. Breakfast was excellent. While you're in Oakham, take time to visit Stamford, only half an hour away.
