Wherry Hotel

Josh checked in while we ate and was polite, attentive, and ready to help. He also talked us through which meats were available. The carvery had a nice range of roast meats and vegetables, all presented really well, and we enjoyed the food. The Wherry Oulton Broad felt clean and welcoming, with a lovely atmosphere and a well-kept dining area. We thought the price was great, especially with the extra 20% January offer. We had a lovely visit and are looking forward to going back. Thank you.

The views across the water were lovely, especially with snow falling, and the meal was great value. I had a thick slice of roast beef, which was mouthwatering, along with some turkey. There were loads of vegetables to choose from, including my favourite, cauliflower cheese. The staff were very friendly and the service was first class.

We were a party of four with a dog and hadn't booked, but someone met us at the door and showed us to the indoor dog-friendly area. Rob was friendly and helpful, kept our drinks topped up, and checked that the food and visit were going well. The buffet breakfast was a pleasant surprise: everything was fresh, hot, good quality, and replenished often. There were cooked breakfast dishes and a small continental selection. Juices and hot drinks were available too, with the juices self-serve and hot drinks brought to the table. We had a superb Sunday morning and will come back, and recommend the place to others.

The Wherry has plenty going for it, from the location and events to being somewhere for a beer or something to eat. I haven't stayed at the hotel, so can't comment on that. The staff are down to earth, polite, and helpful, and it's a pleasant place to spend time. This was my second visit, after a casual lunch sometime in the summer, and Sunday's carvery with my partner was gorgeous. Every part of my plate was good. It's probably my favourite spot around Lowestoft so far, and I'll be back soon for either a drink or a meal.
